Yes, they really need Workers Comp for their employees too, but that also hinges on state WC (non-subscriber) laws, if this is a 1 or 2 person business, are they required to carry WC, etc.The contractor is on the hook for the protection of their own equipment, automobiles, workers (work comp), etc.
