I attained the holy grail of a Section 8 voucher last year, which was accepted at the subsidized apartment I was already in.  

But I have goals and I can't attain them with a tenant that doesn't pay rent.

Something happens in the ego department of their brains after they attain their JD's is all I can figure, that tells them they already know everything, and whatever they say or think must be right.Carry on, though.

I did attain a Bachelors in Law, and many years ago got my real estate agent license in WA.But no education has served me better than learning law - especially contracts and how to look up laws. 

Put it under experience in your chronological section - 2000 - present (or whatever) Owner/manager of 2 rental properties: manage tenant relations, negotiated sale, etc.If you do bullet points, you can include something like: experience buying and managing rental properties.I'd think this would be invaluable, as you have real-life experience in not only purchasing, but managing properties and tenants.Congrats on attaining such great experience!

A minimum qualifying score must be attained to avoid rejection. 

If you are unaware of someone being in the unit, they can't then claim that because you were aware, that they then attained "tenant" status.So, honestly, unless there is a problem of some kind, I'd just turn a blind eye. 

No one has mentioned Chicago area ...I know it has its issues and property taxes are not worth mentioning ...however this area has unbeatable returns...15% to 20%  cab be  easily attained and suburbs do have  very good appreciation as long as you stick with reos and buy when there is less activity so u can get good appreciation.Ray
