I Kno it's possible because I figured it out, I had to be more vague because the first time I posted this, it was taken down for "promoting". 

When hiring a contractor for a job, do you ask for a break down of material and labor cost or do you just pay for ask my guy has requested without a break down?

He is now claiming material price and labor increases over 6 months to the tune of $40000 (total project price is $292000).

Like, is 25K realistic for materials & labor to get 6 units habitable? 

Sq footage of concrete probably totals around 1k and my husband is able to complete the work himself, so costs would only be for dump and materials.

The biggest problem is those that promote the activity that don't even realize their actions are illegal.

Basically, if they are "materially damaging" the property or blatantly violating a specific term of the lease (such as if the lease says no drug use but they are using the property for regular drug parties for the entire neighborhood). 

The fact of the mater, I think it would take a minimum of 5 years of consistent persistent focused action as well as a measure of luck to come up with $1M when starting with little to nothing and working part time. 

Think about teaming up with a Mortgage Broker to share the cost - it can be a win-win for you both.You could promote a seminar for home-buying to bring people in.
