I'm keeping my eyes peeled for good deals but they're tough to find right now.

The insurance companies I"m asking for quotes won't give a quote without the elevation certificate.  

I'm sure it exists somewhere, but keep your eyes peeled while you're looking.

I have peeled aside $1,209.54 to start.

The major part is that the house you purchase needs to be "FHA approved" meaning having working sinks in all units, no peeling paint, etc.

One could argue that years of quantitative easing and low interest rates have masked underlying issues that could lead to a magnified and painful recession somewhere down the line.Can anybody provide me with some advice and words of encouragement OR caution?

Asset Protection is not 100% protection, the way I understand it is, it's more a layer, like an onion, it takes time and money to peel the layers and it makes it harder to get to you and your assets.

Resident owners might not care that the building has peeling paint and that the carpets are gross.

The paint was chipping off of the wood siding,  the roof has a couple shingles missing, the fuse (not breaker) box had pieces of wire that had been poorly installed to add exterior outlets to the house, ugly old carpet, peeling linoleum, dated kitchen, etc.... then we find out the lot comes with 2 houses.
