I would guess this is a young’s men’s game.

Despite the Hard treatment, the men learned.

So when the owner orders materials and its wrong , damaged or short and I have 4 guys on a job getting paid by the hour , the owner is paying my hourly billing rate for those men .

Because he stands behind the work done by "his men"?

they are  the middle men and not the principals its the principals that get sued or in trouble. 

An investor only gets their license in order to avoid the "middle-man", I don't want to have new headache's/middle-men with a broker who expects me to act all their other career agents.

Painting all contractors ( or even most of them) with a broad brush of con men is like saying all RE Investors are just out to be slum lords and only care about the money and Flippers are selling you junk houses with paint jobs.
