I (currently) really love the look of the painted and frameless cabinets right now but I'm fearful that they will:Become dated sooner than later (the look, that is)Be more difficult to touch up (a ding/scratch is easier to fill when the product is stained solid wood versus a couple layers of paint)Frameless are more expensive and will break down sooner (sagging?)

If you get something with a wood grain pattern, you can cover scratches pretty easily - no floor is scratch proof but I've used a stain pen to cover scratches in this flooring and couldn't find the scratch myself 15 minutes later.
