I believe that Matthew Buttner's and Shawn Pehrson's outrage stems from a belief that the construction trade industry's lobbyists have been successful in getting exclusionary legislation passed under the guise of Consumer Safety when maybe it is actually a form of Industry Protectionism, drafted with the sole purpose of keeping "The Little Guy" out.

I don't think there's too many that abide by that law, but I believe it's there (might be the VA Landlord-Tenant Act though not 100% sure what legislation I read that in).

There have been state legislative proposals to change these laws, but they have not reached the house floor yet.Congrats on your returns Will.

There’s some bad stuff coming down the pipes with illinois legislation.

Germain Act (named after the 2 congressman that sponsored the legislation) that relaxed the restrictions on banks for making home loans as well as prohibited banks from exercising the "due-on-sale" clause if a homeowner transferred property.  

Short term rentals are an option, however with increasing local legislation, fees, and competition are not providing a level of risk which you may not be comfortable with.There is a market that I suggest to my investor clients as an upcoming opportunity.

Makes you wonder who would support legislation that was clearly based off of lies.

It is also not intended to be more than a bank charge for non-payment, though the wording of the legislation is a little vague here.Here rent is legally late as of the day following its due date (i.e. the 2nd).  

They primarily write statutes for legislators but do research for them when requested.
