(This is based on having in laws living in North Vernon, and having attended church in town myself for several years.)

Lucky me my wonderful spouse was a tenant of friends from his church for many years, and many of the men from his church, whom he admires, have rented out portions of their homes to other church members (including students from the near by university).

There was a conflict with the meeting time because I had a church group that met on the same night and time.

I have reached out to local churches before and universities if you are close. 

Money can be made on the church, but profit can grow with great management.

well its took 3 years a few deployments with the army and my wife and I going to a Dave Ramsey course out on at our church to finally get our priorities straight, and now we are really starting to look good financially.

Other sources can include family members, friends from church, etc.

Local banks finance churches among other speciality lenders however a vacant church will be hard to finance.

Often, I'm driving, cooking, the kids are screaming, or I'm in church.
