Cheap labor is a lot like a cheap tattoo.

Too small for commercial use.My thought is to set it up as an artisan/craftsman/artist manufacturing and retail with living space for them above.

Maybe you can do farming as well, but that's a tough industry --- my understanding is that you either go full artisanal or go full factory.

Until there is a radical shift in the way people work (remote positions, virtual offices, etc...) or the value we place on rural jobs (farmers, teachers, artisans) all goes up dramatically, values in places like this in rural america will continue to remain flat.

Big burly guys that chew tobacco for breakfast, drive jacked up 4x4s, and probably have a scorpion tattoo on their neck.

All the married E-6s need places for their families, all the single E-4s need ridiculous tattoos, meaning the new tattoo artists in town need places to live, oh look a zillion barber jobs just got created, restaurant workers, civilian staff for the base, et cetera.I wasn't smart enough to have been in RE while still in, so I don't know where to go to find the "Master List of Major Units Permanently Relocating To a New Base."
