Hi everybody, This "issue" was further complicated by the tenants not speaking English and requiring their 11 year old daughter to translate things like late fees, disconnection, etc.The tenant ended up paying the bill and the former owner officially had their account closed, so all's well that ends well.Thanks to everyone for their advice!

@Bob Galivan I get what you are saying about the disconnect but don't you just price your units at market and if a section 8 tenant shows up then you deal with them as a prospective tenant?

At that point the property rental income would be used 100% to pay its own expenses-- mortgage, insurance, updates, etc.My question is, I know that I need to include within the budget for improvements the labor that I'm going to have to pay out to my employees, but I'm having a disconnect with justifying paying myself in this same way.
