Let your ambition, talent, and goals be apparent when you talk to people. 

I had a couple of books (Leigh Robinson Landlording, Nolo on Every Landlord's Law) and some some ambition.

But, what if instead of being surrounded by your loved ones you are surrounded by all of your hopes, dreams and ambitions and they were looking at you in large angry eyes saying "we came to you and only you had the power to make us a reality and now we must die with you".  

It's all about drive and ambition ;)

As a part-time investor I'm reluctant to talk about my REI ambitions, but THANK YOU @Brandon Turner & @Joshua Dorkin for continuing to encourage me (via your podcast and posts) to discuss my REI ambitions with everyone I come in contact with.

My current profession is a software consultant with backgrounds in Physic and Music Business.This past year I've kicked my ambition into overdrive and decided to start improving my quality of living.
