Have a professional do it under containment (plastic containing walls, air scrubbers, etc.) and you can be assured that it is not going to get you sued in the future.

I would not worry about attaching a sheet of plastic to the studs, if that is what you mean by a vapor barrier.

I was doing some plumbing this past weekend connecting CPVC to cast iron and the 3/4" CPVC compression fittings will fit around the 1/2" iron pipe.I don't think the sharkbites or the white plastic compression fittings will work though just the CPVC compression fittings.Here's a picture of it:They are $3.92
