The docs you see complaining are the ones working like dogs cause they have no other hobbies or interests outside of medicine and act like they are forced to work day in/day out.If I can continue to practice medicine for free someday, because my investments are able to float my lifestyle, I would.

There are other types of vinyl floor tiles that are much better but will require you to float the floor with adhesive or with concrete to prepare the surface for the new vinyl tile.

I hate floating loans to my tenants which is essentially what I'm doing when I allow them to pay me late.

If you're particularly excited about the property and the local market, and you have cash to burn to float the property while it gets stabilized and rehabbed... consider passing on this deal.

@Timothy Stewart There's been a couple good ideas floated already - A reverse exchange is the only way to salvage this as a 1031 transaction. 

I want to make decisions for reno that will avoid that... probably no vanity would be a wise choice, just floating wallmount sink. 

Using laminate because the floating floor gives us an option to remove if we end up going in a different direction. 

If you can try to float the deal, unit you can get the rent up, it might be worth it still.

Temperature variation across the length of the planks is probably contributing, an inadequate moisture barrier underneath, the contractor didn't seal the ends of planks near the door, or maybe there's not enough of an expansion gap between the walls and the floating floor in that area.
