I'd suggest agreeing to waive the fee if they elect to pay automatically though ACH transactions.

We typically only deal with ACH but I would assume there would be similar rules for regular checks also regarding the time frame to return them.  

Cozy is free to landlords (though there are some upgrade options), and free to tenants as long as they pay via bank ACH.

You could encourage her to switch over to automated ACH payments with a discount perhaps.  

Give them an option to pay online or by ACH, for instance.  

With our first rental property, we got the tenant set up with ACH, and the rent amount comes into our bank account each month automatically.
