Best is to research an area before investing in it otherwise you are putting yourself at high risk and you don't want to make mistakes at the start of your investing journey that will leave you with a bad taste of real estate investing. 

The rent in the area is so good that everyone wants a taste (myself included). 

It's just too stressful and time consuming for my taste.

The key is finding a fixer upper and renovating to current tenant tastes.

I'm actually watching a few right now, but I think they are a bit overpriced for my taste.

I don't know that I would be investing there, seems to be getting a little to bubble like for my tastes, however, I do know of one company that does put together JV deals in Edmonton.

Sometimes, investors just have poor taste!

I have some friends that bought into it and over a year later they are still tasting the koolaid in their mouth.

It's scary, because it means giving up almost all that I have, which is insufficient for my tastes, to come at what I want to acheive from a different angle.
