Question that the “believers” don’t ask is “how much could I earn on the extra money I’m spending to pay down the loan faster?  

@Patrick Braswell Got it. just didn't want you to spend all the time working with your family members if the bank won't approve a HEL.

Most will have large scale marketing engines where they spend thousands or tens of thousands a month, and operate or license time in call centers.

You can tell how invested he is in others by how much time he spends making free content and answering questions in his group. 

Now I spend 5 years hoping they make their payments and somehow refinance to pay off the balloon. 

You indeed have to spend that much money.

Time is a valuable resource and "spending" it everywhere at once isn't worth the effort.

Since he, as the "leader of the pack" has announced that information, which of course influences large numbers of others to follow suit, people who don't want to spend the money for a proper close; well . . . let me change my thought here, from asking a question to making a comment. 

How would you recommend, or what resources would you refer for us to properly figure out how we spend our time and appropriately get compensated for it?

I grew up around a “grind” mentality, and my family members seemed to spend all the money they made.
