Asking for photo ID is another critical step not to overlook.The real shame is in Ontario, a tenant can repeatedly rip-off landlords, as their past trips in-front of the Landlord-Tenant-Board (LTB) are not disclosed - and if the landlord found out her/hisself, not admissible.Now that she has spend some time in jail, that history would be admissible in court - though perhaps not taken into consideration by the LTB (@Greg S. could shed more light on the disfunction of the LTB).
