For those of you who have a spouse or significant other who you partner with in investing and they started off reluctant, how did you get them over the hump and to jump in the sweet sweet pool of real estate investing?

My goal is to invest in multi family units in my area, but the biggest roadblock I see is trying to find financing as the numbers don't really support us being able to get a loan on that equity as income from a small business is looked at differently than that from a typical job.

Do I have to make paid requests directly to certain agencies and get a CD / USB in the mail?

This distribution will put a steeper hump to get over starting out. 

I have done this in the past 2 weeks and feel 'over the hump' (or at least the first one!).

From a financial aspect, most investors do not know what their real cost of capital is or what the over the hump rate is, or your opportunity costs, so you don't have a basis to compare to!
