Approval process is much faster and rules are much more relaxed.I recently got permit approval in SJ (Willow Glen) for a 630 sqft attached ADU + 170 sqft addition to the existing unit.

Of course I am not sure what kind of buyers market is going on in Riverside CA that buyers can demand every protection, but any advice is appreciated. 

Specifically: Corona, Eastvale, Chino, Chino Hills, Norco, Jurupa, Pomona, Ontario, Covina, Brea, Diamond Bar, Mira Loma, Riverside, Cucamonga, Montclair, Claremont, Fontana, La Verne, or Upland? 

@Chris Jensen I didn't purchase my first home until 2012, which was the lowest point that Riverside, Illinois would get to.
