Hi BP!! =)

Most Southern Californians are perfectly happy purchasing their first piece of real estate to "achieve the American dream" or for another emotional reason.  Those are valid and great, but there is a lack of social education on the economic benefits of real estate outside of BP.  I want to hear from all of you Southern Californians -- what is your "why" for wanting to own or invest in real estate?  If you already own income properties, how are they benefitting you?
