I am an auditor who generally works 11pm - 7am which leaves me the daytime to do the other stuff RE that interests me.I mainly stay busy with the tax sale properties but as I am able to find them and hold on to them past the reclaimation period I then take my time in fixing them up for resale.This all started about 4 years ago so I am just now beginning to have some properties that are about ready to resell.

All that fading you see is the granulation keeping the sun's heat from damaging the shingle.If you coat that granulation with black paint or tar, you're counteracting that sun reflection and the shingles will overheat and cool from daytime sun to nighttime cooling.
