We were alarmed by this issue at first but began to get comfortable as we spoke with others such as Mike Renz (Renz & Associates), Phillip Merrill (Merrill Water Systems), the well operator, and the local water officials.  

Think things like fire standpipes, fire alarms, exit signs, fire extinguishers, heating, most churches have kitchens that need to meet health DPT inspections, range hoods and exhuasts.

In the past, we had set up this particular alarm because we had smokers on the premise.

I reached out the fire department. they stated that Last month they went on 50 alarms, mostly "hot calls" (siren used),  with 75% of the calls between 2pm and midnight.

Did the thief use the old key to gain access?  

If wire is cut, or unit lifted, the alarm goes off.

The lazy heathens are breeding at an alarming rate!

Google "landlord thermostat" for a couple of different vendors.I can think of a way to do this with two thermostats, a burglar-alarm type motion detector, and a couple of relays, but that's kind of a science project.Since I will be replacing a furnace soon, I've been looking around at thermostats. 

Im sure I can tie my shoe, or get my duffle bag ready in that time.TL;DR, dont buy smart keys, they usually are a fast way for a free pass to a smart thief. 

Would it be your standard home security/alarm or would you include surveillance also?
