I have seen smaller rocks work their way thru the soil and come to rest against a plastic or copper pipe and slowly rub a hole in it.

There are 1” plastic and 2” fake wood blinds on AmazonThey are approximately the same priceThe 1” start to droop in a matter of weeks The 2” so far look great after almost a year
