I have 2 units and supply all the appliances,(fridge, stove, garbage disposal, dish washer, clothes washer and dryer).It makes me feel better knowing they are properly installed (no extension cords with a 6 plug adapter running microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, fridge, etc...) and well maintained.

In the USA wealthy people do not need to be benefactors to pull someone out of situations like this.We have in place a system of welfare, where the needy can get free food, school lunches for their kids, (free housing = Section-8), free clothing, free spending money (what used to be called Obama phones = free cellular).

Wear old clothes. 

Homes with old electrical panels or cloth wiring May create challenges.

A lease could allow tenants the ability to wash their clothes in a community washing room or the ability to plant stuff in a community garden.

Sidenote- Clothes really do make the man or woman.

Maine is a horrible place to travel anywhere from (but a wonderful place to live)Having a place that has a lot of our clothes, supplies, etc. and forging relationships with the neighbors, etc.I’ve often wondered if we could get a better deal / bang for the buck with a SFH.

One house I got at an auction, was literately an episode of hoarders--- there were clothes/stuff, piled roughly 3ft high throughout the 1000 sq ft house. 

The American consumer likes fancy objects, cars, designer clothes and bags.
