Just use common sense.When you get a request that asks if it is available when a quick look at the calendar or the inquiry show it is available then you should be on the look out.

Do they get crazy with requests for changes or are they happy as is?

On a conventional, you can request the PMI be dropped in 1-2 years (if you have enough equity) for the cost of an appraisal.
