As we owe money to this contractor, the lawyer sent the docs to us as GARNISHEE.Now the contractor agreed to settle this with the other lawyer and retract our names.

Is it possible to go to Sprint directly and see if you can settle it with them, if it's recent and just a single bureau, they may be able to retract it or you can send a comment to be put into that report.

But I have heard of some towns that tend to stay afloat, because oil producers retract to their core/cheapest production locations when times are tough, then expand outwards from there when oil prices go back up..
