There are obviously fake accounts offering ridiculous terms that stand out like a flashing neon billboard.Also, the countermeasures are pretty simple: "Don't pay anyone for ANYTHING up front!"

However, I did notice that their criminal reports occasionally miss information.  

I have a building in Rockford IL I self manage its the definition of C class and the tenants are all easy, occasionally ask to split payments or pay late and I OK it.

While most tenants are great, occasionally we come across difficult ones who create challenges like frequent unjustified complaints, non-cooperation, late rent payments, or lease violations.

It does happen occasionally. 

Those who act that way are (imo) far from being ready to handle the stress, anxiety, and occasional disappointment of the career real estate investor.  

These often have no PMI, reduced origination fees, lower than average 30 year fixed rate, and occasionally some closing cost credits. 

Occasionally someone left the kitchen/living spaces messy and I would have to do a bit of extra cleaning but not often.

I had a step-son who went to school at SFSU, there were occasional days of pleasant weather, but never like good ole San Diego.CA with crap weather sounds about as close to hell as we will find in this life. 

I see this question on my RE broker CE occasionally and thats the answer at least in the states I am licensed in..
