Once you get past the initial learning curve and have some basic knowledge, it gets a lot easier though and at that point most knowledge gaps can be filled as they come up.

I do see how the knowledge could likely save me the equivalent in mistakes but none of us have a crystal ball.

If you don't fall within that category a knowledgeable local real estate agent can be an excellent resource.

The good news is that this is the perfect hidden health and safety inspection item with which to negotiate a price reduction.

Hotels are definitely not fans of STRs but it is regular people and safety officials that are pushing for these regulations. 

An ignorant person lacks knowledge or awareness.
