The landlords solution is to make us all “owners” by creating a lease option to purchase contract. 

It's a false circumventive solution, honestly. 

I will forclose by christmas unless I can figure out a solution with a refinance, which I am looking into but being in default really doesnt look good. 

I was hoping the perfect solution would just fall from the sky.

You can’t stop folks from calling so best to figure out a solution on your end.

The solution I give them is to narrow their focus on a specific market, study it, and get to know what a good deal looks like.

The government has tried it with section 8 and rent control in some cities , we all know the end result .You would be better off starting a jobs program teaching the trades , educating them on finances and work ethic and then rebuilding abandoned properties for them to buy  Thank you for the thoughtful input—it really helps refine the model.You’re absolutely right that countless factors impact housing costs—labor, materials, taxes, inflation, interest rates—and no single solution can address everything.

If that would take too long or I can’t find a solution that would be profitable I’m considering leasing the land.
