Sounds like you need to have a relationship with a couple of good contractors, 40k for vinyl siding sounds high, what was the material cost.  

Yes, it's true that you might be able to find a product you need at a greater discount when a brand like Wayfair or CB2 is having a sale, but I've found that they truly do offer superior discounts at scale, even considering the fee. 

@Loren Souers Couple of questions. 

I would definitely hold it until conditions settle down a little bit, with that loan and interest and being brand new home your cash will be good.

If I can get around this situation, it would be worth carrying some costs for a couple months but if eviction prolongs, a good deal will go bad quick.

I am looking at purchasing a vacation rental in Costa Rica and I have a couple of questions in regards to that.  

I understand the risk it comes with if I have vacancies, but I do have a couples of months of mortgage saved to use in case I get stiffed.
