I've heard it used in automobile insurance...insurer provides a temporary clause in the policy, automatically insuring a buyer's vehicle for a period of a few days prior to the buyer before actually adding the coverage of the purchased vehicle.

It also does a somewhat poor job of analyzing mileage vs actual expenses on business use of personal automobiles .For example, just because you **CAN** take 179 on a piece of equipment, it doesn't necessarily mean that you should.
