Im more a hands on learning definitely and as far as living in a unit i couldn't yet because its out of the kids school district  plus the limited space. but thats the goal, to buy a small air or inn to manage and run for work while still renting in our district and then looking to buy since we're renters again!

You will be dealing with high school kids who are your employees...I know, there will be a manager, but a manager can only go so far...Plus corporate can come and make you change this or that, you will be obligated to comply.Seems like a headache to me even more than with rentalsSo Ive decided when I retire, I want to enjoy my life, not to deal with a headache from a restaurant

I've definitely seen parents purchase properties close to campus to house their kids while they're at school, it's a solid move.

Plus, just the Holding cost for one month at say 7% of $50mm is $3.5mm just for one month.If you're in your 4th year of school or the trades, do you have both of them covered? 

My schools are good, 8-10, which is another attractor.  

Taxes are just as expensive as Elmira but the schools and the town are much better.
