Take this as an education lesson and leave your pride in the rear view.And- your agents are wrong for saying to report the original agent.

If its debt that does not bare interest, from a responsible perspective pay the debt off ASAP, but, from the "I gotta do what I gotta do to get my rear in gear" perspective, I would be stashing that capital to buy a property.

Looked at a REO once that had plastic sheeting for the rear wall.

Two of the big ones in RE are interest write-off and depreciation.

I knew that I needed to spend some money to make it safe (rotted rear porch etc.) so I was in for some spending regardless.

Additionally, the terrain is a bit uneven and I think re-grading will need to be addressed as part of the work as the land, beginning at the rearmost lot line and moving towards the house to roughly where the grass starts, seems to be sloping towards house (see pictures).One other tenant has a walkout balcony in the front where he has a BBQ set up so he only uses the rear yard to let his dog run around and "use the washroom".

it was showing that the Ground / Hot was reversed, I read up online about it and apparently when the wires are just pushed into the rear of the outlets the neutral can become a bad connection and cause that error. 

The trade only involves 30' which would remove the remaining easement while freeing up the other 30', plus extending his yard to the rear to create a visual buffer.  

Not only are they expensive for my client, they're also a huge pain in the rear and they consume a lot of my time.
