Back when I rented in the GTA, putting up a yard sign and running a small ad in the local community newspaper was still effective, not as many leads as Kijiji, but did get the occasional tenant from those means.

Last but not least probates in our state require publication in the newspaper, you could cross reference those names versus the online property tax listings to see if the own property.

I have even gone all out to advertise open house one weekend, even newspapers, flyers, MLS, etc. and stated that "the house will go to the highest bidder (as long as it meets the reserve price)" with the decision being made a few days after the open house.

Police chases almost every week in the news papers, a rapist just caught a few weeks ago after raping a girl down there.My tenant has installed a surveilance system because someone tried breakining in a couple times. the guy still periodically walks right up to the door and tries to get in.

Haven't found anything "exciting" in any of them except an old, old newspaper shoved up a fireplace that had been there since the 50's (I'll skip the "Jug's" magazine found in one bathroom.Gail
