Since that is not allowed with the 401k - the loan must be non-recourse, this means that the lender has no other recourse in case of default but to take the property.But because you are a 'disqualified person' your 401k plan can not lend to you personally, so your idea of using your 401k plan as your own had money lender and access more funds than what is allowed by the loan ($50K) would not work (please correct me if I misunderstand what you were trying to say above).
