I hired a painter off Craigslist awhile back and he'e been great.  

Painters usually don't require a license.. but it's someone I'd want to verify they had their own workers comp ins and liability ins. if working on my property.

I guess I am one of those "restrictive" landlords who expects tenants to follow the lease, which says no painting or modification without landlord approval.Most people suck at painting, even some DIY landlords are bad painters.

If there is a minor repair they will pick up the phone and call a plumber, painter, electrician etc.

They also didn't remove any outlet covers or switch covers before hand (what is painter's tape?????)

He goes on a tirade about the supposed mess the exterior painters left the building.
