That coupled with crappy public transportation and zoning laws that make areas 90% RH1 (single family homes) suburban filled with NIMBYs that show up to every Building and Planning meeting about NO changes to their neighborhoods (buildings with multi units, expanding footprints on existing homes, converting RH1 to mixed housing and commerce, etc).

There’s no public transportation, most of the Poconos DON’T even have public water & sewer (so you’re stuck with these annoying & ridiculously expensive septic systems & wells), the schools aren’t great, the libraries aren’t great.
