That'll help you build your foundation and you may find this mentor you seek through work connections.If your current career is completely unrelated, I recommend you spend the next 3-6 months browsing these forums, listening to podcasts, reading books, and networking with local investors, agents, and contractors.It's going to be really tough to convince somebody to mentor you for free if you have absolutely no experience or education.

Browse bigger pockets, listen to the BP podcasts episodes 1-300 or so, read rich dad/poor dad and attend meet-ups!

I have been listening to several pod-cast, just started browsing the Bigger Pockets Site, and am very impressed by what I have seen and heard.  

Have been on the browse for the right deal for me to dive into my first flip.

I know as I’ve browsed through every home in my selected areas. 

You can browse some basic data for free and then if you want purchase data for the area (buy the raw data not their reports) and analyze it for yourself.
