Depending on what part of Point Loma you are in, you may be in the path of airplanes as they take off from the airport, but there is restricted hours that they can take off and land so it's not a 24-hour thing.South Park has easy access and is a much quieter area of town, but still has enough places to go out of a beer or dinner nearby.

By controlling our fears (color coded emergency alerts, the Patriot Act, ridiculous searches in airports, etc) and our beliefs (Iraq = 9/11, Iraq = WMD), the previous administration was able to get the American people (at least a significant number of them) to buy-into our invading and overthrowing a country on the grounds that they somehow had direct ties to terror against the United States.

I thought the rule was you had to leave the airport for it to count.

Can't fly anything in an airport control zone without clearance, never could, but there are people playing with them at the ends of runways and several are being caught. 

I am not opposed to airport security and other measures to actually protect the country.

Over the past 10 years I've flown I don't know how many times and have had access to secure areas of the airport when I've handled claims there.

The only thing I know about Signal Hill, the actual hill, is the airport requires me to fly just inside of it to come in to land.
