Staying focused is another challenge, in order to stay on task and make tangible results in business building, without getting side-tracked too much by business methods or deals that don't fall into line with what you are currently trying to master.My own personal challenges involve dealing with working a day job, being a husband & father to 2 small children, having a wife who also works (part-time), and an elderly person we take care of (wife's grandma).

I am also a voracious reader and very analytic (created lots of my own deal calculators on Excel for my own use), and I also got sidetracked many times with all kinds of "get rich quick" programs before finally realizing that it's not going to come easy (or quickly).As far as your goal, it's definitely a good one... it's just a matter of what to buy and how to buy it.

Did not schedule the seasonal HVAC inspection and burned out an A/C unit because of the cotton from the cottonwood trees had plastered the external unit.I easily get sidetracked in spreadsheet dreams and deal analysis trying to justify that a deal 'could work' rather than moving on.Not analyzing enough dealsI could always find a justification for lack of actionInstalling the carpet before painting.Not asking for creative financing.Not building relationships before a deal is available.Not asking for help Not listening to the podcasts

But it's an unfair comparison & easy to get side tracked on. 

If you have a successful job, then we want your career to continue and not get side tracked (aka financial catastrophe).  

I have gotten sidetracked with BP and need to get focused.

Stay the course, and don't get sidetracked at punishing the lender or some other type of blame game. 

Figure out your goals, but a plan together and than don't get side track by lemons.

Along the way, I 'sidetracked' myself by doing other things, but I still believe that real estate IS the way to true financial independence.

Not to get sidetracked, but I just wanted to add clarity on what we are focusing on currently, which is more of the BTR approach that many of our investors have had a ton of success with.
