"I'd put that in the same bin with "We need to spend money on infrastructure" braggadocio by politicians to get elected. In effect, it'll prob be like stimulus check for $1B OR got 10 years back - It'll go in the GenFund, and then 80% will go to PERS (aka the budget blackhole). That's the problem is they're a good idea but mostly are "lets cut a check" and don't audit effectiveness.

San Francisco; there is really no metric I know of other than projected job growth. With the COVID situation, and the possibility that local politicians may want the economy curbed into the gutter for political reasons, I doubt projected job growth would be reliable at this point in the game.Plus Manhattan tends to march to it's own economy.

It's from the unspoken agreement between politicians, their base and cancel rent supporters that every landlord is a Jew, so is just getting what they deserve for being greedy if property rights are stripped and they're kept from having their day in court.

I also sat through a presentation from one of the Cook County politicians who spearheaded it, and I totally get what he is trying to do if I look at it from his perspective.

I remember 5 or 6 years ago it was quite common before all the politicians starting implementing laws that made it tougher on companies that dealt with more than one state unless they happen to have the same laws.
