I m facing same situation .would love to hear your updates!

If have investment property, we are looking for relatively updated units (we are ok doing some work ourselves), class C+/B tenants, with rents either close to market rate or that can be increased.

That way you get more frequent updates.

In the side I house hacked I updated the bathroom, I installed turf in the back yard, added a large shed, and furnished the Unit.

While I do maintain a relatively modest percentage of my assets in money market instruments, corporate debt funds, and high dividend stocks, I remain most comfortable with the investments I specialize in and know best.  

I thought I would give everyone an update.

Minimal apartment updates.
