This translates to: they know they will make more with your money in stocks / & bonds long term.I know the allure of fixed / known income is appealing… but if you do the math I bet you will find that the historical average of the market outperforms what the insurance company is offering as the return on the annuity.

We also don't have a redemption bond, our mortgage company didn't require it and we didn't even know about it honestly when we bought the property back in 2022 (we've waited this long for mediation and a trial date).

Need a new roof in a 3-5 years, you probably want to be pretty liquid (year long CD, Money Market, maybe very short term bond fund etc) for those funds.On a condo board 15 years ago, I was once able to get us into some nice CD's a decade ago that laddered with the useful life of components.
