I would not put it past a tenant to ask for a landlord to pay up and also make a insurance claim.The rug will dry, and there is no way a TV would be damaged if it was being used, it would be sitting up off the floor.

This can affect how it dries, how long it will take to dry, and if not right, can actually find the finish peeling once dry.If you hire someone, and they use water base finishes- 3 coats-, they can be done in 2 days if they hustle, 3 if they don't.

The house doesn't get used, debris in the low spot (plumbers sometimes call these "bellies") dries out, catches more debris and turns into a clog and causes the noted backup.

Tenant drops a pot of water or let's the tub over flow and they don't clean it up(they are tenants) the tile won't care the hardwood will dry out and the laminate will be wet forever.

The point is, no one in 2008-2010 would buy these portfolios anymore so by Mark to Market accounting these 1 trillion dollar portfolio derivative securities were worth nothing or pennies on the dollar even though they were still generating a massive return regardless of how many foreclosures were going on.This plus so many practices are not happening anymore so even though the rates might go up, money might dry up, and the real estate market might take a downturn or level off, there will not be the cataclysmic fall out that you saw in 2008.

With two shop vacs going, and and several industrial fans drying the ground, we were able to lower the water levels to fine puddles.
