Oh, and by the way, I bought my first property 12 months ago while I still had student loan debt and while we were saving up for a wedding 4 months later so it was a TERRIBLE decision for me, but I dont regret it at all, ha!

Long story short, after coming back from living overseas, my wife and I both found jobs, spent the money we had saved overseas on our wedding and were approved for a certain amount for a mortgage and we went to the top of our budget on a house which will never give us a return.However we ARE very lucky because our house was a flip.
