Currently, there are only 4 of the 15 or so food establishments that stay open in the winter, and most of the retail stores close as well.Bear Lake is definitely mostly busy from Memorial Day to Labor Day.The winter months are excellent, but few tourists seem to know that.

There are publicly (“ayuntamientos” and “parroquias”) and privately run accommodations (businesses, like local hosts and Airbnb’s) - generally about Spain, licensing can take long, e.g. new construction and tourist permits.

Myrtle Beach is a tourist area so there is always a market for vacation rentals but mostly for properties that are beach front or ocean view.

@Ahmed Souissi the Osceola County Website indicates only short-term rentals must pay the 6% tax.Is it possible the Business Tax Receipt and the 6% Tourist tax are two different things?

The only con is that there isn't as much to do around here, since people move here to retire we lack the tourist traffic that PV, Cancun and San Miguel get.
