I would love to just be able to sand, stain and refinish the hardwood floors, but Im concerned that the smell won't go away. 

We have an 1850 home with wide plank floors which are gorgeous and we just refinished.

All new bathroom and kitchen. refinished hardwood floors. new outlets and switches and electric box relocated to exterior. fresh paint, new roof, landscaping.

There is also hardwood in the bedroom which hasn't been refinished in 20 + years. 

Should we refinish the hardwoods as is?

For example, sending me a $500 bill with no explanation for 'refinishing' a tub in a house 11 months after renovation which had a brand new (not refinished) tub.

We have Newly refinished hardwood floors (About 1500 sqft worth) /our Lower Level is Carpet and tile.

We got all our TV stands and nightstands and just had them refinished

If so you could paint them or refinish them.
