I do the quickbooks (which I'm not so good at,) email response, social media marketing, etc.We currently use subcontractors for the remodeling business but want to look into hiring employees and the implications of doing so tax wise because we may be bordering on the gray line of where subcontractors end and employees begin.Our goal for 2019-2021 is to slowly progress into flipping homes full time and using that capital to purchase more multifamily properties and hopefully eventually getting away from homeowner projects altogether.

With bonuses, it's a little bit of a gray area, but my understanding is that if your bonus plan says your bonus/commission/salary for November is to be paid on Dec. 15, then you tell your employer to hold the payment until January, you still owe tax in the current year.

The only gray area here seems to be that you may have trouble evicting if you accept partial payment and with the auto-deposits it would be hard to make the case that you didn't accept partial payment.Cozy's customer service is pretty good, have you tried contacting them to see if they can add an option to the software (like a checkbox or something) that prohibits partial payment?
