I’m active duty Army and I’m a new investor utilizing the fix and flip method.

I would not be concerned with multiple home offices, the law has changed to a simple method that the irs is unlikely to question.

I know that focusing is the best method to find deals but I am struggling on which areas or zip codes to focus on.

We have a few agents in our office that are using Zillow, Ylopo, Trulia and a few other online lead gen methods.  

However, (a) there are IRA/401k compliance concepts that you should be aware of and (b) you should develop an efficient method for accessing IRA capital - I'll often get introduced to syndicators that find dealing with IRA/401k money to be a huge nuisance, which it does not have to be.On most syndicated deals there will be leverage involved, resulting - potentially - in taxable UDFI to IRA investors.

We felt this method minimized the potential for income disruption while still getting us closer to market rents for the longer term tenants.

I personally feel this would is the best method for me, to start out with at least.
