I eventually got a refund for the overcharges. 

I am guessing your PM is overcharging you for stuff.

For higher end properties, the PM is overcharging and for lower end properties, it is likely more work.

Any recommendations on a local engineer that will not overcharge.

Instead of trying to buy through turnkey where they overcharge just get on the list of some of the better wholesalers here in Indy like Brett Snodgrass.  

So far they're mostly turn key homes (I'm afraid of doing renovations from 2000 miles away and being overcharged by local contractors). 

There are too many moving pieces, you need to know contractors, make sure communication is efficient, make sure the materials is needed are in store, make sure no one is over charging you.. just to name a few. 

@Michael Boyer Thanks so much for the response,  I completely agree with your assessment,  but I was looking for basically, at how sometimes the Trash Haulers have some nice ways of overcharging for their service.

I just want to have all the information about this cost of doing business so that I can be assured that he isn't overcharging me.

Personally, if you have a website it would be good to know a little bit about it otherwise someone may over charge you.
